The 40-Day New Moon Challenge

You are invited to come grow with me!

What you do

1. Decide how much you need to trim.

2. Trim with cutting shears

Super trim dates this month, are the 22nd and the 23rd

Two day trims are best. This is when you split your trim into two days. So if you decide to trim 1/2 inch, then you trim 1/4 an inch on the 22nd then the other 1/4 of an inch on the 23rd.

3. Write down the length of your hair after your trim.

4. Take your beginning length shot

5. Practice good retention methods: No brushes or combs, Finger comb only. If your hair is fine or weak then do a protein treatment.

6. Do not measure your length until 40 days after your trim. After your first length check, then continue to check your length every 30 days. I usually get continued growth rate increases for 3 months from this method.

7. Just care for your hair and do not obsess over length. The CoilyQueens Regimen is the absolute best for growing your hair longer and stronger!

Read all about my other New Moon Phase trims and get more understanding on this method HERE.

Feel free to share your beginning length picture and updates on the "Black Hair love" (for CoilyQueens) facebook group.

Dry hair quick fix tip of the week!

When you are not feeling your best many times hair care will take a backseat. This happened to me last week. I was not feeling up to doing my normal hair care regimen. (Coilyqueens Regimen) It was not that I didn't have time, but my hair just took a backseat. I kept my hair twisted in large sections and covered daily.

After not being well for almost ten days, my hair started to become dry. I purposely put my hands in it daily so I could keep up with my moisture levels. Thank God my hair is really healthy so I can stand to be slack a few days. But after ten days, my hair was getting crunchy and I still did not feel like washing it.

So here is my quick fix!

I grabbed my shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie and applied it to small sections of my hair. Then I followed up with my natures blessings hair grease. Yes grease! I am a natural who will still use grease when I want to. You can use grease on your hair, but I do not recommend it for the scalp.

Did I spray my hair with water first? No, because the first ingredient in the smoothie is water. The smoothie is a thick creamy awesome product, it instantly took any crunch I had away. My hair became soft and moisturized. I locked that moisture into my hair by topping it off with, Nature's Blessings hair grease.  My hair stayed moisturized for over 5 days with that combination of product.

ORDER HERE!

So if you ever need a super quick fix this is a product combination to try.

Pros
Works immediately
Holds moisture in the hair for days
Gives shine and great definition
Easy to shampoo out
Natures blessings has good ingredients in it.

Cons:
Because the two products are so thick, it does not feel the best on the hair.
But it makes you keep your hands out of your hair, because it surely does not feel good.
Use lightly

Meet this NYC natural!

Introducing  future medical doctor  of America Anyelina

Look at that smile! A Dominican natural beauty!

She is a medical student living and thriving in NYC! Like most young black girls she was given a relaxer at a young age. As a woman she became tired of the scabs on her scalp after relaxing. Although she didn't know a thing about her natural hair, she knew she had to give it a try. With very little family support she big chopped, January 4, 2014.  Although her natural journey was not all easy the first year she would not change a thing about her decision to go natural.

Natural beauty!

"I always admire sisters with natural hair. But I was brainwashed by society and I was to scared to go natural for many years. I thought and felt that only straight hair was beautiful that natural. Curly hair kinky. Wavy. Was not a good look for any woman, especially not myself."

"I always would ask myself if I went natural what would  people think of me? What will my job do? How would my man respond?  But one day I woke up early in the morning with my mind made up that I was done with the relaxer chemical. For years I have suffered,  from severe scalp problems and hair loss due to relaxers.Besides my style challenges going natural is the best things I could of done for my body."

After two years of being natural I love my natural hair. I am learning to style it better and retaining length. Most of all my scalp is healthy!!!

Best discovery since being natural?

"When I first became natural I was a product junkie. I spent so much that if I wrote it down I would've been a millionaire, until I came across the CoilyQueen regimen it change my life. I am grateful that she embraces and study natural hair to the point to share her knowledge with the world. Her regimen covers all issues of natural and relaxed hair. With this regimen I learned that natural hair is not complicated, once you change your mindset and be consistent with a good regimen, like the CoilyQueens Regimen."
"I strongly feel every natural woman should give her regimen a chance and I promise you all negative thoughts will become past tense."

Thick juicy twosts!

Her message to other young women:

"If I had the luxury to speak to a young girl about natural hair I will start off by telling her cut that relaxed garbage off your head.  That is not you that what your inner thought what to make you feel that you're suppose to be. I will tell her to love herself and accept who she was put on earth to be"

Que'date natural y orgullosa!
