The 30 day Love your Hair challenge



Maybe you started your hair journey and it has not turned out as you planned. You find your hair to be a struggle. Daily you frequent hair forums, groups or hair sites in search of an answer to your hair issue. But all the information just frustrates you more. So you say forget it, I will just cover my hair up with fake hair, and call it protective styling.  Once you do that, you then tend to not care, much about your hair. Why do I say that? Because most people get extensions and neglect their real hair. They do not wash it for weeks and that is not good. Sure the fake hair has given you a moment of relief but it has done nothing for your God blessed hair. When you remove it weeks later, you are no more closer to knowing your hair than you were before you got the extensions.

Decide whether you are okay with a temporary fixes, or do you rather have long term results of healthy beautiful hair? I bet you would love your own beautiful healthy hair, to style as you desire. I would love to help you start your journey in that direction. First you start by loving your hair. Love is not what we say, it is what we do. Most people will say, "I love my hair". But does your actions show that you love your hair? Is your hair thriving from love or suffering, due to your constant complaints, frustrations and covering it up?

Goal of this challenge
The goal is to change your mindset about your hair, so your hair journey will be a more successful one.

Challenge start date:  December 1st

EACH DAY YOU FOLLOW THE SUGGESTIONS
If you start late, like on day 7, the go back and do all of the days that are doable so you can catch up with everyone else.

Day one:  Decide your hair goal, then write it out in a positive statement as though you have already reached that goal. (Examples will be provided)

Day two:  Create a hair journal for yourself. Write only positive thoughts about your hair in it. Include your positive hair goal statement, you wrote out on day one.  

Day 3:  Give your scalp a 10 minute massage today.Think you do not have time? Well do it as you watch the Wiz, on TV.

Day 4:  Before you look in the mirror, smile really big, then go to the mirror and act as though your hair is the best it has every looked in your life. Feel the happiness, warmth and confidence. Through out today, remember that warm, happy, confident feeling whenever you think anything negative about your hair.

Day 5: As you style your hair today, say something positive about your hair.

Day 6: Shampoo and DC your hair. Start with a special hot oil treatment of your favorite oil.

Day 7: As you style your hair today, say something positive about your hair. Say it several times.

Day 8: Give your scalp a 10 minute scalp massage, while repeating your positive hair goal statement.

Day 9: As you style your hair today, say something positive about your hair as you look in the mirror.

Day 10: Think of 3 good things about your hair journey, look in the mirror and say them out loud, as you admire your hair.

Day 11:  Look through old magazines and find a picture of someone with hair you desire, cut it out, then cut your face from an old picture and paste it on top of the picture. Put the picture in your hair journal. (do this on the computer if it is easier for you)  My example

Day 12: Give yourself a 10 minute scalp massage, repeat your positive hair goal statement.

Day 13: Name 3 positive things about your hair or your hair experience.

Day 14: It has been a week, time to wash and condition your dirty hair. .

Day 15: Purchase some pure peppermint oil. Mix 7 drops in 1 tablespoon of any natural carrier oil you have.

Day 16: Give yourself a 10 minute scalp massage, repeat your positive hair goal statement as you massage.

Day 18: Take a break from hair and write down 3 things you are grateful for. When you find yourself thinking about your hair today, think on those grateful things instead. 

Day 19: Give your scalp and hair a hot oil quick treatment

Day 20: Give your scalp a nice 10 minute scalp massage.

Day 21: Purchase some red clay or bentonite clay and do your first clay wash.  Read all about clay washes

Day 22: Name 3 positive things about your hair or your hair experience. Write them in your journal.

Day 23: Purchase something special and different for your hair today, from a black owned business.

Day 24: It is Christmas Eve. Prepare a stimulating peppermint oil treatment massage onto your scalp for 10 minutes, apply your leave in conditioner and cover with a plastic cap Stimulating Sauna Treat.

Day 25: Happy Jesus Christ birthday! We celebrate because he came for us! Style your hair with a white or red accessory today. Remember to give God praise for His Son. Amen!!!

Day 27: As you style your hair today, say something positive about your hair.

Day 28: It is time to wash and condition your hair again! Must keep your scalp clean!

Day 29: Give your scalp a 10 minute massage today.

Day 30: Write down 3 things you love about your hair in your hair journal.

Congratulations you made it through 30 days of loving your hair!
